Всемирный призыв к устойчивому мировому сообществу – пока ещё не поздно

Несмотря на усилия ООН и многих правительств, международных организаций и гражданских движений против климатических изменений, недавние данные показывают: если мы не интенсифицируем наши усилия, будет слишком поздно.
Межправительственная группа экспертов по изменению климата при ООН на своём недавнем собрании констатировала, что глобальное потепление может быть удержано на максимуме в 1,5°C лишь на десятилетие, после чего даже половина градуса значительно повысит риски засух, наводнений, экстремальной жары и нищеты для сотен миллионов людей. Чтобы достичь реальной и выполнимой цели, необходимы срочные и беспрецедентные перемены.
Накануне предстоящей 24-й Конференции ООН по климатическим изменениям ( COP24), которая откроется в начале декабря, мы, лидеры самого крупного прогрессивного политического объединения, Социалистического Интернационала, обращаемся с призывом усилить многостороннее сотрудничество по этому важнейшему вызову для человечества и развернуть более интенсивную работу на всех уровнях.
Социалистический Интернационал многие годы активно раскрывал многоаспектную сущность борьбы против климатических изменений. На протяжении работы своего “Комитета для достижения устойчивого мирового сообщества” Социалистический Интернационал также очертил необходимые меры, такие как глобальный налог на CO2 (и другие парниковые газы).
Мы исполнены решимости вести борьбу за революцию в мышлении, политике и образе жизни, чтобы противостоять этим новым вызовам. Ради создания новой парадигмы действий, производства и потребления. Это изменение мышления требует, чтобы Цели Устойчивого Развития (SDG) стали частью нашей базовой образовательной программы, профессионального обучения и НИОКР, а также наших политических решений.
Имплементация SDG критически важна для борьбы с нищетой и неграмотностью, обеспечения мира, защиты прав человека, управления миграциями населения, гарантии справедливого и устойчивого общества для будущих поколений.
Ключом к успеху этих эпохальных перемен являются социальная справедливость, равноправие и здоровое, сплочённое, открытое общество, которое уважает достоинство каждого.
Мы осуждаем консервативные и популистские круги по всему миру, которые систематически подрывают усилия по борьбе с изменениями климата. Их мотивы совпадают с мотивами могущественной нефтегазовой промышленности, всячески противодействущей любым регуляциям, которые, защищая окружающую среду, могут урезать их доходы. Мы призываем всех противостоять сознательным усилиям, направленным на искажение научных фактов и преуменьшение катастрофических рисков глобального потепления.
Цели Устойчивого Развития — это краеугольный камень для более широкого Глобального Социального Контракта, который может объединить правительства и народы нашей планеты во время усиливающихся раздоров с помощью общих целей, которые поощряют ответственное сотрудничество и регулирование.
Социальные последствия изменения климата связаны с огромным числом рисков, среди них финансовые риски, которые необходимо оценивать во время будущих инвестиций.
Социальные партнёры, гражданское общество и граждане должны оказаться на высоте социальной ответственности, интеграции усилий ради снижения потребления углеводородов в каждодневной жизни.
Мы призываем социальных партнёров и гражданское общество объединить наши общие усилия для имплементации SDG.
Мы готовы быть в первых рядах борьбы за более человечную, устойчивую планету!
